BUILD Boston COmpetition

BUILD Boston teaches high school students to be entrepreneurs.  At the May 5 showcase, our three teams sold their products. The "Fluffy Expressions" team won Best Pitch and "Towel Tote" team made the most revenue of the day. 



Five students attended BPS Math Rocks event in April, and one took home the 7th grade 2nd place prize! 


Greater BOston Food Bank service Day

11th graders preparing for their spring break trip to Nicaragua engaged in a local service day at Greater Boston Food Bank on Jan 20.

Winter talent show

On December 18th, the Dearborn STEM Academy had it's first talent show of the year. It was a packed event with dancing, singing, comedy skits, student government speeches, storytellers and rappers. A hug congratulations to ALL Dearborn students, from the performers to the audience members, who were extremely respectful and supportive throughout the show.

Advisory field trips

On Wednesday, December 9th, Dearborn faculty took their advisory groups on field trips to various locations around the city. The purpose of these trips were to expose students to new environments and to further develop relationships in small groups.


On November 20th, students and faculty came together to celebrate those who received Honor Roll for the first quarter of the year, in addition to those who have shown the most improvement.

6th Grade November Fest

On November 20th, the 6th Grade had a November Fest celebration put together by the 6th Grade Student Council Enrichment and the Dudley Promise Corps. Students enjoyed food, activities like pumpkin painting and cookie decorating, and watched the film Free Birds!

A visit from the secretary of education

On November 12th, the Jeremiah E. Burke High School had a visit from Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. Also present were Massachusetts Secretary of Education James Peyser, Massachusetts Education Commissioner Mitchell D. Chester and BPS Superintendent Tommy Chang. Dearborn students and faculty were invited to participate in listening to a speech by the Secretary and had the opportunity to meet him afterward.

October community meeting

On October 30th, the middle and high school students came together to reflect on the first two months of school and to share the work that they have been doing so far. Attendance Awards were given out to those with perfect attendance, members of the Poetry and Art Enrichment class shared their projects, and Ms. Eckels' 9th grade physics class shared a presentation on mass and speed!
